WHY HOLISTIC COACHING?
Holistic coaching recognizes the interdependence of the whole person--how your body, mind and emotions are all working together and influencing each other. This delicate web of interconnectedness is how the natural world works, but these days we are often pretty out of touch with the natural world.
We pay a high price for this disconnect--many of our physical, emotional and mental struggles are closely tied to it. By reconnecting with our innate wildness and getting disentangled from societal norms that are no longer serving us, we can move forward in areas where we have gotten stuck and reclaim our vitality and wellbeing.
Some of the areas we look at are diet, herbal support, stress management, sleep habits and movement practices. If, for example, you're not getting enough quality sleep, we know that negatively impacts all sorts of things in your life. Sure, drinking more coffee as a pick-me-up may be better than nothing, but it's not going to do the whole job. Figuring out how to help you get better sleep will improve issues like brain fog, chronic pain, energy levels, immune function, emotional states and more.
And likewise, if your body is constantly in a state of fight-or-flight, that's going to get in the way of your body's ability to fully heal /recover from illness or past events. It's going to keep you locked in a state of anxiety, mess up your hormones, impede digestion, and so on. So working on something like nervous system regulation to help you shift more fluidly out of a stress state might be a critical piece if this is an area you keep getting stuck.
Figuring out how to make tweaks in your routine or in how you respond to your environment is not easy, but that's where I come in. When we collaborate holistically, we look at all of these areas that are impacting your quality of life and then consider where it might be possible to make some adjustments. We all have various limitations and your protocol will be uniquely designed to work for YOU, in your life, RIGHT NOW. You start with whatever feels the most achievable and progress at your own pace.
As a coach, it is my job to support you in your goals for holistic wellness. I am not here to tell you what to do or prescribe strict regimens based on what I think is best for you. You are the one in charge! As your coach, I will offer education, creative problem solving, evidenced-based ideas and support at every step along the way.
