COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Our nervous systems are designed to help us respond to and recover from all the situations we find ourselves in on a daily basis so that we can survive and thrive. We are meant to shift gears when there is a heightened level of threat/danger, and shift back when the danger passes.
But sometimes we find ourselves stuck in Fight-or-Flight or Freeze mode even when there is no immediate danger at hand. Living with a heightened sense of threat is, in fact, a defining characteristic for autistic people, HSP or those with any history of trauma, and we pay a price to have those raging cortisol levels coursing through us around the clock. But you don’t have to have a specific diagnosis to find your nervous system is prone to getting stuck, and in this day and age we all face a daily onslaught of media working hard to keep us on high alert at all times.
My focus as a coach is in training individuals who are living in chronic states like anxiety or overwhelm to get ‘unstuck’ and shift gears with more fluidity. While it is common to see strategies for calming the brain down by removing triggers or reducing exposure to certain activities/situations, I have a slightly different approach.
My aim is to help clients cultivate the right environment for their unique wiring. Countless studies have shown the benefits of spending time outdoors, for example, but have you ever thought about why that helps people? Nature is not a 'quiet' place. From a sensory perspective, it is is incredibly rich--it can engage all of our senses in a way that sitting in front of a screen never can. As humans, we need to engage with our environment in a way that empowers us, and all too often it is the other way around. I work with clients to come up with a game plan designed to help prevent burnout and engage more fully in a life that reflects their core values by connecting them to the things that are truly meaningful to them. This can be done either through individualized coaching sessions or through my course on Nervous System Rewiring. I also offer a course called Navigating Neurodivergence for teens. Additionally, I provide consultations for clinicians seeking to better understand and meet the needs of their neurodivergent clients.
What is Nervous System Rewiring?
This one-on-one coaching course is for anyone living in a chronic state of anxiety or overwhelm, although neurodivergent individuals may find it particularly relevant.
Nervous System Rewiring Topics:
*Understanding your nervous system and how to move more fluidly
to optimal states of calm and connection when you get stuck
*Protecting your Daily Energy Bank
*Learning some brain hacks to alter your stress response and improve focus
*Creating an action plan for moving forward that aligns with your core values
Typically, this course takes around 8 weeks to complete, although everyone is different. A minimum of 4 weeks is recommended to get the ball rolling, and then additional support is added as needed.
